What it does

KhCal in a minute

KhCal is a calculator, plain-text notes, a month calendar and a handful of date, percentage and unit tools. It is built Arabic and right-to-left first: an Arabic paragraph runs right to left on its own, and an English one runs left to right in the same note.

BASIC does the everyday job fully offline, with no account, no ads and no tracking. Your notes and history stay in a private database on your device.

  • A calculator with a tape

    A familiar keypad, a running tape of your session and exact decimal arithmetic: 0.1 + 0.2 is 0.3. Percent reads like a desk calculator: 200 + 10 % is 220.

  • Notes that know direction

    Each paragraph decides its own direction from its script, so Arabic and English share a note without fighting.

  • A calendar for your week

    Month view with ISO week numbers, and your own weekend shaded: Friday and Saturday if that is your week.

  • Days Between

    Total days, workdays, weekend days, years, months and days, weeks and hours, with an optional inclusive end date.

  • Percentages and units

    X is what % of Y, and increase or decrease. Length, weight and temperature converters work offline.

  • Private and offline

    BASIC makes no network connections and asks for no permissions. The Android app declares no permissions at all.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does KhCal need the internet?

No. BASIC makes no network connections and works fully offline. ADVANCED adds a currency converter and a translator, which fetch exchange rates and translations online.

Does it work in Arabic?

Yes. KhCal is Arabic and right-to-left first. Each paragraph in Notes picks its own direction, so Arabic and English can share a note.

Where is my data stored?

In a private SQLite database on your device. Nothing leaves it. On the Mac, Settings › General › Database shows the path.

Is there an iPhone or iPad version?

Not yet. KhCal for iPhone and iPad is planned for the App Store. Join the waitlist and keep KhCal selected to hear first.

Which Macs does it support?

macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Apple silicon. Intel Macs are not supported.

Do I need to allow any permissions on Android?

No. KhCal Basic for Android declares no permissions at all, not even the internet.

Is BASIC really free?

Yes. BASIC is free to download and use, with no time limit, no ads and no account. ADVANCED will be the paid edition when sales open.

macOS says it cannot verify the installer. Is it safe?

Our installers are not signed with an Apple Developer ID yet, so macOS asks you to approve them once. Follow the step-by-step guide. You can also check the SHA-256 fingerprint shown next to the download.

When can I buy ADVANCED?

Not yet. We are completing our UAE business licence before we take payments. Join the waitlist and we will email you the day sales open.
